Lenore Vardi Arts and Culture Month Reception

Please join our Dubuque Arts Council Board at the 2015 Arts and Culture Month Celebration Reception will be held Friday, October 16, 5:00-7:00 PM in the Rotunda of Carnegie-Stout Public Library. This year’s guest speaker will be Lenore Vardi, concert violinist and artist, who will not only talk about her extensive experiences as a performer and artist, but also perform for us. A sampling of her artwork will also be on display.

This will be a wonderful time to enjoy meeting with colleagues, eating good food, and networking – all for free! Please join members of the Dubuque Arts Council Board at this reception.

About Lenore Vardi

Lenore Vardi gave her solo recital debut in New York’s Merkin Hall in 1982 and was hailed by critic Robert Kimball of the New York Post as “a violinist of amazing elegance and musicianship…a natural performer.” As a soloist, she has performed live on radio stations in New York, CBC Radio in Canada, and BBC Radio in England and has performed and recorded with such outstanding artists as Placido Domingo, Michaela Petrie,Itzhak Perlman, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, and Tony Bennet.

Ms.Vardi is also an avid professional painter of abstract renditions of musicians and musical instruments. Additionally Ms. Vardi was a talented dancer, and from this experience, she is able to impart a unique knowledge of movement and the human body. In her approach to teaching, Ms. Vardi makes every effort to uncover, nurture, and develop a string player’s unique musical, technical, and artistic abilities. As a teacher, Ms. Vardi focuses on a holistic approach that deals not only with repertoire and technique, but with the physical, mental, and psychological aspects of study and performance, creating a highly beneficial experience for the student.
